Catherine Stewart, horticulture journalist and a regular contributor of feature articles to Landscape Outlook has been honoured with the Horticulture Media Association’s Paper Laurel - Journalism. Presented at a black-tie ceremony in the Adelaide Town Hall, Catherine’s story ‘Death of the Mixed Shrubbery‘ (published in Landscape Outlook Autumn 2007), won the excellence award for an original article/story/column published in the previous 2 years.
MC Ian Parmenter read out the judges’ citation -
“Written for a readership of landscape designers, Catherine Stewart’s article targeted its audience well and was entertaining and challenging.
Stewart confronted the reader with her point of view, made the reader think and presented solutions to the problems she described.”
In accepting her award, Catherine thanked AILDM for its continued support in maintaining Landscape Outlook as a high quality journal as well as those heritage specialists who had offered insights and opinions helpful to her article including Colleen Morris, Stuart Read, Charlotte Webb and Jim Fogarty.
