ARE YOU A LANDSCAPER KEEN TO BE INVOLVED IN THE COMMUNITY?
Canterbury Bankstown Career Connections (CBCC) is a not for profit community based organisation. We assist in the provision of the transition of young people aged 13 to 19 years from school to work and/or further education. One of our most successful programmes is ‘Adopt a School’, this programme involves an Industry Professional working with a group of students interesting in a particular Industry.
CBCC has had a request from a local High School in the Canterbury Bankstown area for an employer to assist in a Landscaping Adopt a School project. This High School has already successfully completed a native garden area within the school grounds and they are now looking to install a ‘Frog Pond’. This one week project will consist of sharing Industry knowledge with the students involved, supervising the design of the ‘Frog Pond’ and of course assisting with the construction and installation of the pond.
At present we have the support of Padstow TAFE’s Horticulture and Landscaping Department, who will be providing a tour of their facilities, and assisting with the construction phase of the project. This Adopt a School is due to take place any time which suits you best between 13th October – 19th of December 2008.
All participants will receive free promotion of their organisation via CBCC’s website, CBCC’s Newsletter, and throughout the local newspapers.
