Great food, Great company, Great AILDM

It’s time again for our triple header event.- Seminar/AGM/Dinner
Catch up with other AILDM members and friends, meet your new board members and listen to the stories of three of our interesting and successful practitioners. You may come to one or all three.

Seminar – The Good, The Bad and the AILDM Gurus
(3:00pm-5:00pm)

We all started out in the landscaping business with a dream of where we were going. But did you get there?

Our three speakers have all gone in directions they may not have imagined when they began. They will describe how they started out in garden design and discuss the successes and perhaps some of the failures in their careers. Plus they’ll discuss how they found their new direction and how, no matter what you do in the gardening world, your skills as a designer or garden manager are always relevant and worthwhile.

Dean Boone – Dean is not just a TV guru. He’s a real-life guru who set goals for himself and not-so-gradually achieved success.

Andrew Davies – Andrew is an extremely creative and passionate designer. He’s had many ups and a few downs and is currently the director of the Eden Gardens landscape design department. Andrew is committed to AILDM and to encouraging and helping young designers get a start.

Debbie McDonald – From gardener to garden designer to assistant editor of AILDM’s Landscape Outlook magazine to Horticultural Editor of the ABC’s Gardening Australia magazine, Debbie has always been passionate about gardens and changing the way Australians think of their gardens. All this as well as AILDM Secretary for a number of years and mother for the last year.

All three have worked hard to achieve their success and all three have so much knowledge to impart….. our own AILDM gurus.

AGM (5:30pm-6:30pm)

The dreaded A- word that people avoid as they don’t want to fall asleep in the late afternoon or else they don’t want to walk out with a board position they hadn’t counted on.

Not so in both cases.

All board positions will be filled at the election earlier in the month and there’s no such thing as sleep when Chris Miller chairs a meeting.

The current board has been very active and successful in improving AILDM’s image and in improving member services. You’ll have a rundown on what’s been done and what we hope to achieve in the next term.

Dinner (7:00pm-9:00pm)

Last year’s dinner was attended by about 30 cheerful, talkative members. Come along and join in the fun.
