Hi David,

Currently i am studying Landscape Design Full Time at Ryde Tafe in my final year. In the notice above you mentioned you were looking for someone casual but it did not mention if the position was 5 days a week.
Briefly about myself i am 45 years old and in the process of a career change with my background in business. I have held positions mainly as a business analyst with both large and small businesses. I would feel very comfortable with most administrative tasks within an office and confident dealing with customers.
I am currently running a small garden maintenance business on my days not at tafe which are wednesday to friday. If a suitable position was available in the design industry i would be happy to close this down.

I am currently looking to move to Australia in the next couple of years, and will have completed my degree in garden design, as well as being fully updated in 2011 version of Vectorworks Landmark. My question is, would there be any chance of employment as a designer (I know you have not seen my CV, just a general request) if I were to apply and what would the possible salary be.

I am currently entering designs for at least two RHS garden shows here in the UK and another for Hampton Court in 2012.

Any feedback would be grateful.

Hi James,
Contacted you today via mobile and talked very briefly. I have a design & construct business but enjoy networking and also looking for more openings for design work. Although I do have a Vectorworks programme I have built up a reputation for signature/hand-drawn designs. I have access to scanning equipment and have no problems with emailing plans through to clients.

I have been working in the landscape industry for over 13 years with extensive experience in residential garden design, construction and maintenance. Having moved to Sydney from Mauritius in 2007, I am currently studying part time (2 evenings a week) at TAFE Ryde and will finished my Landscape Design and Horticulture Diploma next year to become Australian qualified.
Working with my own clients in Mauritius and in Sydney, I am confident and happy to liaise and work alongside them.
The design software I use currently is AutoCad (7 years) and SketchUp.
