Hi Corrie, you will need to contact the Queensland branch of AILA as this was their event. AILDM was merely making our members and readers aware of it in this post. Please see the link in the article for contact details.

Hi I am an artist living on the Sunshine Coast of Queensland and I am part of a Project conducted by the Sunshine Coast Regional Council called TreeLine. The project requires artists to respond to significant trees in the SC area. I proposed urban trees as my significant tree and will be working toward a visual art installation performance in June. I have come across your article and this site in my quest to find more data regarding urban tree policies in Qld, I was wondering if there is more data available and if I could also use some of this data on my blog about the project? (blog address noted) Any help you might be able to give would be great many thanks corrie

Commercialism of National Parks is not needed! People from all walks of life and all socio-economic backgrounds can currently enjoy the wonderful Australian environment by camping in the parks. A so called 'eco-resort' is a hotel resort by another name. Hotel resorts by definition have a larger building footprint, consume more resources and take over more habitat than camp grounds. And they require more bitumen on which to deliver their wealthy, 'eco-conscious' lovers of creature comforts to their destination.

Hi Brad
thank you for posting the Subtropical and Tropical Design Fest QLD information. The Weekend was a great success. 160 delegates attended and visited gardens designed by AILDM members Ted Maguire, Branat Design and Sidonie Carpenter. The response from delegates was very positive. We will send on some photos and a write up for the journal and magazine.
The weekend also generated interest in membership by two landscape architects at least.
thanks again

My first AILDM Awards Dinner - it was thoroughly enjoyable, inspirational and shows what great work is being done by members. As a student and just starting out i was amazed and encouraged by the standard of the entries and particularly all the winners. Great job in getting the details up so soon!

I'm in retail nursery up in Brisbane. I see people who have had a "landscape job" done and now, 1-3 months later, the plants have gone off... stunted, yellow etc...

When tested, the soil pH is 8, at best, to 9, but I've actually measured 10 on one occasion.

These devestated people can't believe how (with application of sulphur in small increments and remeasuring pH) their garden blooms in a few months... proof in the pudding.

They are confused having spent money on fertilizer and more fertilizer and pesticides and what not.
