Last year Friends of The Gardens ran a very successful tour to the United Kingdom, which included a visit to Highgrove, Prince Charles’ private estate. They are returning 4 – 19 August 2009 – this time off to Scotland, the gardens of Yorkshire and other delights.
Walled Garden
The tour takes in the Scottish capital, staying in Edinburgh for four nights with a very special visit to the Garden of Cosmic Speculation for a day. Highlights include the Garden of Alnwick, which we were inspired to visit after the Duchess of Northumberland’s recent visit to Australia, the Millennium Garden in Norfolk designed by Piet Oudolf, and Beth Chatto’s garden in Colchester.
Returning to Highgrove and Westonbirt Arboretum to see them in their summer finery, and due to popular demand, revisit Kew Gardens and Wisley, and finish with a farewell dinner at the Reform Club in London.
