Each year AILA QLD celebrates the life of Karl Langer by awarding the Prestigious Karl Langer Student Award.
This year AILA will have guest speakers Lawrie Smith (FAILA) & Andrew Green (AILA) and the announcement & presentation of the 2008 Karl Langer Award winner.
Lawrie Smith – the first winner of the Karl Langer Award in 1973, the legend behind many a Botanical Garden, Brisbane’s Expo 88 & so much more.
Andrew Green; Karl Langer award winner in 1992, who started his career with Lawrie; now the CEO of Gamble McKinnon Green & concentrating his energies on improving ‘Open Space’ in Australia. Projects such as SW1 Global Village, James Street Markets, Sanctuary Cove Village, just to name a few.
The highlight of the night is sure to be the announcement of the 2008 winner.
This is an event not to be missed, as students showcase their submissions & have the opportunities to mix with passed Karl Langer Award Winners, Landscape Architects & Allied Professionals who are well established within the industry. Food & Drinks will be supplied.
