Are you familiar with changing methods of promoting for the self-employed or small business? Facebook, Blogs and Wikis might be terms you think are restricted to ‘young people’s’ language – but they’re actually very relevant to many of us.

Did you know that search engine usage has dropped as more people get referrals from their peers as to where to shop, what to buy, where to go and experience dinner, movies etc. Peer referral is growing and is called ‘social networking’.

If you’re interested in knowing a little more about YouTube, Facebook, Flickr and how to use it in business, the HMA NSW is proposing to organise a 1/2-day course during which you’ll get a real taste of the marketing power of these new and easy-to-use internet tools. Time will be spent exploring this dynamic and challenging area – and no technical or prior knowledge required.

Date:
DATE TO BE ANNOUNCED
Time:
9.30am – 12.30pm
Where:
In the Chatswood, North Ryde or Glebe area, depending on the size of the audience

Speaker:
Laurel Papworth
(One of her roles is a lecturer in Social Media at Sydney University).
Cost:
Dependant on the number attending, less the larger the audience

We are looking for a show of hands at this point to decide if we have an audience. The information we’d like to know NOW is:

  • Would you like to attend? YES / NO
  • Would you like to attend but the cost would prevent you? (although it is Tax deductible as Self-Education) YES / NO
