Wednesday 21 May – New Directions in Concrete : Glebe Foreshore Walk
The workshop will discuss concrete construction insitu and precast from both the designers and construction point of view using Glebe Foreshore Walk (AILA NSW Award in Landscape Architecture 2007 & AILA NSW Design Award of Excellence 2007) as the primary example. Discussion to include matters such as selection of aggregates; pitfalls in achieving the design profiles, design of formwork -achieving the finish – what to look for in your on-site forms; construction practices – jointing, on-site finishes. Common concrete defects and how to avoid them.
Site walk to look at precast and cast insitu finishes.
