There’s a whisper in the wind that the Nursery & Garden Industry NSW & ACT – NGINA – is staging a Big Event for August this year. It’s true and we want you to note these dates in your diary: 25 & 26 August. This is when our inaugural Green Expo Sydney is being staged, and we will naturally welcome all AILDM members to visit this prestigious ‘trade-only’ event.
Yes, August is a busy month and trying to find a date to please everyone is nigh on impossible – however, this is a perfect time to herald the start of spring – and what better venue than The Grand Pavilion at Rosehill Gardens. GES – we love this acronym – has been in GEStation for some while. The planning and logistics are huge, but we are confident that it will be a success. As you will see, we have secured significant sponsorship which presages well for the future of our nursery and garden industry. There is tremendous interest from potential exhibitors already!
GES will feature not just plants, but all those associated lines that our greater gardening industry encompasses. Yes, it will be green, but there will also be many other colours as well! Being a ‘trade-only’ event, there will be opportunities to talk, look, touch, feel, smell – without the hassles of a public show. GES is being marketed interstate as we see the eastern seaboard states as ‘one’ when it comes to our industry. We are actively encouraging participation from exhibitors and buyers from across the borders. Sydney is perfectly placed to be the future ‘hub of horticulture’, and GES will be its showcase.
Fusion will be at GES. A ‘Fusion Showcase’ of new plants and products (for the calendar year 09) will be featured. Brendan Moar has kindly agreed to open GES on the morning of the 25th. An Exhibitors Manual is being prepared, and in the months to come Registration for buyers & visitors will commence. Say YES to GES!
GES is vital for our industry – never more so than in these turbulent economic times. It sends a strong message to everyone that we see a great future for the nursery & garden industry. It is essential that growers and buyers and anyone else with horticultural links, such as the important landscape industry who are serious about the future, attend GES. NGINA welcomes your interest and encourages you to be part of this pro-active state initiative. GES will be a winner, and we welcome your participation.
