ecodesign Pty Ltd is an established, award winning landscape design and arboriculture consultancy practice based
in the northwest of Sydney.
Our mission is to integrate external natural environments, people and architecture to create harmonious
living environments that can be enjoyed for generations.
Our practice has reached a nexus in our growth and we require an experienced and accomplished Registered
Landscape Architect to lead our team, assisting with business operations and studio management.
As a firm we provide high quality consultancy for landscape design, master planning, arboriculture, management plan
ning, expert witness and decision support. Our clients include architects, builders, developers, infrastructure and
property managers, as well as local state and federal government institutions.
We have a unique mix of projects with a very strong base in the residential marketplace.
However we also work within the commercial, infrastructure, institutional and industrial markets.
This exciting position offers the opportunity for an experienced and energised design professional to
advance their career from design into management.

Essential selection criteria:

· Registered Landscape Architect.

· Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication.

· Demonstrated experience in leading a team.

· Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite.

· NSW drivers licence.

Desirable selection criteria:

· Frontline or business management experience and/or qualifications.

· Diploma of Horticulture Landscape Design.

We see our ideal candidate as being able to demonstrate measured career progression with stable and varied
experiences across one or several practices.
The position reports directly to the managing director and will have a design team of approximately
nine others as direct reports.
Remuneration packages will be negotiated with the successful applicant and
will be based on experience and qualifications. Components of the package may include performance based
incentives, further education and vehicle.

The casual role, based in Thornleigh, will involve assisting in creating and preparing landscape plans for clients, construction and council.

Ideal skills include:
•Applicants must have qualifications in landscape design (Dip. Landscape Design)
•Experience in CAD (Vectorworks) is essential.
•Experience with Council & DA’s (preferred but not a necessity)
•Comfortable working unsupervised and in a small office environment.
•Must be flexible with availability (work hours can be in school hours, however days and actual hours may vary from week to week).

GREENROOFS AUSTRALASIA CONFERENCE 2011

CALL FOR ABSTRACTS

Green Roofs Australasia (GRA, FORMERLY called Green Roofs Australia) believes this is an opportune time to hold a Green Roof Conference in Sydney; conferences are keystones to the expansion of a green roof industry in host cities. As Vice President of GRA, I have the opportunity to offer you or a company spokesperson an invitation to speak at this conference. Speaker topics may include a case study, design practice, research projects or company policy / practices in reducing emissions with green infrastructure, green roof or green wall design & installation best practice.
The theme of the 2011 Conference is “GREENING CITIES”, so the intention is for topics to be relevant.
The National Green Roof Conference will be held in Darling Harbour on November 9 – 12, 2011. International and
National speakers will address the conference, either on November 10 or 11.
GRA (an incorporated not for profit organisation) has held National Green Roof Conferences in Brisbane 2008, Melbourne 2009 and Adelaide 2010. This 2011 conference offers exposure to new technologies, design practice and a chance to harness new ideas on implementing green infrastructure to the built form and urban planning.

The International Keynote Speakers are:-

Patrick Blanc. France. Leading international Botanist / Green Wall Designer.

Nigel (Dusty) Gedge. U.K. International leading authority on green roofs & ecosystem services. He has consulted to the City of London and was President of ‘LivingRoofs.org’(2004) & the European Federation of Green Roof Associations (2006).

Raphael Garcia. U.S.A. Landscape Architect, Ecologist, Environmental Engineer. He has project managed the largest green roof projects in North America at Rana Creek P/L and now works for RMC Water & Environment, a leading US company specialising in environmental engineering solutions for urban planning.
