If the success of an organization can be measured by the number of people who attended the Seminar/AGM/Dinner then AILDM is travelling very well indeed. This year’s event was even better than last.
The seminar was packed out as they just kept rolling in to listen to three very interesting and successful members, Dean Boone, Andrew Davies and Debbie MacDonald. The passion for their work and for the industry as a whole was clearly evident.
The AGM was like no other. People often fall asleep at an AGM…..but not at an AILDM one. Outgoing President and Great Enchalada, Chris Miller ran the meeting without aplomb but with plenty of humour and banter. Was this because he was handing the Presidential tiara to Arthur, the Serious, Lathouris?
Changes to the constitution were unanimously agreed to.
1. Increase the number of National Council (Board) members to 14 – This allows us to have active “boarders” in other states without reducing the representation of the administrative group in NSW.
2. Allow communication of mandatory notifiable issues by email. Eg Elections, AGM notification etc. Postal notification will still be used if email is not available or a member prefers that method.
3. Abolition of discriminatory references eg “he/she” replaces “he”
Over forty people attended the dinner and there was a real buzz about the Bowlo.
It was a great day for those who attended and a great day for AILDM. We’re growing in numbers but also in our professionalism. We’re constantly trying to improve the services offered to members and our profile in the industry.
If you have a specific skill which you think may be of benefit or if you have some spare time give us a call or email administrator@aildm.com.au or president@aildm.com.au Thankyou all for your support and for helping take AILDM to where it is today.
